Updating Cockatrice

Tip

Information on updating the card and token database can be found in the FAQ.


As of the release of Cockatrice: Gatewatchers, Cockatrice now has a built in way to download newer binaries.

  • Go to the Help menu and go to Check for Client Updates.

  • Once you click the update option, the client will check the server to see if there is a new binary ready for download.

    • If an update is found, you'll see a popup similar to the following. Simply click "Yes" and you will begin updating.

  • If there are no updates available for download, you can still force it to download the latest binary anyway.

  • Once you close the top popup, you'll have the manual updater options popup shown.

    • Click the Update Anyway option to download the latest release of Cockatrice (even if it's installed already)
    • Click Open Downloads Page to be taken to our release page on github

After updating your client we always recommend to update your card database as well - this is not done automatically!
